Le Clos De La Peyre - 1725 Route Des Andrieux, 05130 Fouillouse, Musée à Fouillouse
About the location: The old stone house at this location has its foundation on huge rocks still to be seen in the vaults and the cellar. It is settled on a slight slope at the lieu-dit „Peyre“ next to the Peuzin farm in the North-East and the Les Andrieux and Les Guérins farms in the South-West of today’s commune of Fouillouse (ancient name „Fulhosa“ in 1493) in the Hautes-Alpes (Dauphiné) of the PACA region.

The village is now part of the 14 „villages perchés“ along the Route Napoléon. The hamlet around the farm house is called until today “Peyre” seemingly the name of the first settled farmer who took the name from „pèira” meaning in the local occitan/provençal haut-alpin language „stone” (petra in latin).
